Distraction 2
Have you noticed how the news is constantly changing, minute by minute, and most definitely hourly these days? 'BREAKING' means something new to report, OMG. An attention grabbing headline screaming you have to know about this. What has happened now, what is this all about?
We used to get the morning newspapers on the way to work, and watch the six o clock news on the telebox while we ate our dinner. Maybe take a look at the ten o clock news before we went to bed. Now it's wall to wall 24/7 in your face news. The minute something happens it becomes news. It must be added to the swirling swamp of garbage that is peddled as news.
A lot of news is speculation, someone's imagination. Journo's scrambling for a bite of the cake, needing to get their name out there.
We are being manipulated by news. What's the best way to take the heat off a controversial situation? What's the easiest tactic to divert attention away from awkward questions which may arise from a news article holding back the full story. Easy, churn out more attention grabbing headlines. Move on quickly, nothing to see here. Bury the stories before the real truth is exposed.
You can't fool all of the people all of the time. When there is a lot more digging to do, they will dig. Partygate is coming to it's conclusion, buried by whatever comes next. People have been fined for flouting the rules. Those who made the rules are the same people who broke the rules. But that is not the end of it. It's not that simple.
One more question needs to be asked. WHY did they think they were not at risk of catching the big bug, when they relentlessly pushed a campaign into our faces telling the rest of us we were at risk of killing each other? Why were they exempt? Why could the bug not possibly find it's way into the vicinity of number Ten? I want to know that.
Catch ya later. Toodle pip. ilona
