The Ohio House, led by Speaker Larry Householder, once again, protected your rights as a citizen by passing a bill that will simply bar any public official, elected or unelected, from stopping the time, place and manner of an election. The bill (HB 680) cleared the chamber 61-34 along party lines with all Democrats voting no.
One could assume the Democrats like elections being cancelled and polling places closed in the dark of night by Amy Acton. Maybe they do not want to hear the voice of the people. I do.
As you will recall, Acton, DeWine and Husted shut down all polling places in Ohio the night before the March primary election causing massive chaos. They did this even in the face of a judge telling them they DO NOT have the power to do it. The dictator trio did it anyway.
Some say this was putting belt and suspenders on laws which were already clear, but as we all know in Ohio, the 'trio of terror' seems to terrorize the law, the Constitution, and our rights.
What’s more troubling is that if you do not like what your government is doing and want to vote to make a change, they have shown the arrogance to deny your right to vote by attempting to shut down an election and thwarting the voice of the people.
Sadly, this does have to go to the Senate and we certainly know they have been completely unwilling to do ANTHING to rein in the power of the tyrannical trio of Acton, DeWine and Husted. It appears the only thing these three bow to is rioting and looting. How sad and offensive that is, to the rule of law.
But again, under the leadership of Larry Householder, the Ohio House is protecting your rights and trying to reign in this trio of terror.
This bill started out with some very different concepts, but the legislative process worked itself out, we heard from many people, both for and against, which caused the bill to be changed to suit the needs and good ideas of the citizens of Ohio. That is what living in a representative republic is all about, unlike the dictatorship we have been living under.
